Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information MKP Entertainment collects when you use this website or book us for your wedding, why we need it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to answer you and look after your booking, and we never sell it.

Who we are
This website is run by MKP Entertainment, trading as MKP Magic. We are the "controller" of your personal information, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

What we collect
When you send a booking request. Your names, email address, phone number, wedding date, venue and town, the services you are interested in, timings, the number of guests and anything else you choose to tell us.
When you contact us in other ways. If you email, phone or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the messages and the contact details you use.
When you chat with Olivia. Olivia, the chat assistant on this site, answers questions on our behalf. It keeps your messages and any name or email address you give it, so we can follow up.
When you book. The details of your booking, what you have paid and when, and anything you tell us about the venue and your plans for the day.
On your wedding day. We may take photographs and short videos of our performance, which can include you and your guests. The Magic Mirror takes photographs of the guests who use it, and the Audio Guestbook records the messages guests leave for you.
When you visit the website. Our hosting and security systems record technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the site running and secure, not to identify you. We also count visits and enquiries with our own visitor statistics, run by Asset ICT, which do not use cookies and do not identify you. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you found and used the site.
We do not ask for, and do not need, any sensitive information such as health details.
How we use it and why
UK data protection law says we must have a lawful reason for each use of your information. Ours are:
- To answer your enquiry and check your date (taking steps at your request before a contract).
- To arrange and deliver your booking, including emails and calls about the day and taking payment (performing our contract with you).
- To keep business and tax records (a legal obligation).
- To show photographs and videos of our performances on our website and social media, and to keep the website secure (our legitimate interests). You can ask us to stop using photographs of you at any time.
We do not send marketing emails, and we never sell or rent your information.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with people who help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Asset ICT, who host and look after this website and our visitor statistics on servers in the UK.
- Google, for Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Microsoft, who provide our email.
- Meta (WhatsApp), if you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
- Olivia AI (olivianetwork.ai), the provider of the chat assistant, if you use the chat.
- Trustist, who collect and display our reviews. If you leave a review, Trustist holds it under its own privacy policy, and it may appear on this site.
- Mark of Jukebox Mobile Disco, if your booking includes the disco, so he can arrange it with you.
- Our accountant or HMRC, where the law requires it.
Some of these companies may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they must protect it to the standard UK law requires, for example through UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
We keep cookies to a minimum and do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of each page. The site uses:

Some pages also load content from other companies, which may see your IP address:
- Google Fonts, for the fonts on the site.
- YouTube, for one video only: the Friends from Work clip on the Home page. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play, and then it uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube may set its own cookies then. All other videos on the site are hosted here.
- Trustist, for the reviews.
- Poptop and Entertainers Worldwide, for their badges at the foot of each page.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, although the chat and WhatsApp windows may show their greeting each time.
How long we keep it
- Booking requests sent through the website form are deleted from the website after 12 months.
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months.
- Booking and payment records are kept for 6 years after your wedding, because tax law requires it.
- Photographs and videos we use to promote our work are kept until you ask us to remove them.
- Magic Mirror photographs are printed on the day, and digital copies can be downloaded through the QR code on each print for about a month, from an online gallery provided through our Magic Mirror supplier, Photobooths.co.uk. After that, the person who made the booking can ask us for copies, which we keep for about 2 years.
- Audio Guestbook recordings are given to the couple on a memory stick at the end of the evening. We keep a copy for at least 2 years, in case the memory stick is lost and you need a new one.
How we keep it safe
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and is protected by a firewall and regular security updates. Access to your information is limited to the people who need it to look after your booking.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
To use any of these rights, email david@mkponline.co.uk. We will reply within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is for couples planning their wedding. We do not knowingly collect information from children through it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
